    Hello SRMA members!

I wanted to let you know about an exciting upcoming online workshop that the SAA Privacy and Confidentiality Section is co-hosting. The Mukurtu Workshop and Panel Event is a free, two-part workshop that focuses on Mukurtu, an open-source content management system built with Indigenous communities to manage and share digital cultural heritage. Part 1 - Mukurtu Overview will take place on Friday May 21st from 12:00pm - 1:30pm MDT and will give an overview of the collection management system. Part 2 – Panel Discussion and Questions will take place on Friday May 28th from 12:00pm - 1:30pm MDT and will feature three speakers who will talk about their experiences with Mukurtu and how their institution approaches privacy, confidentiality, restrictions, and access with Indigenous collections.

This event is jointly hosted by the SAA Privacy and Confidentiality, Native American Archive, and Collection Management Sections and the Center for Digital Scholarship and Curation at Washington State University.

Check out the Mukurtu Workshop and Panel Event page for more details and to sign up for both or either session. You don't have to be an SAA member – all are welcome and encouraged to join! If you have any questions about the event, get in touch with Privacy and Confidentiality Chair Rachel Gattermeyer (rgatterm@uwyo.edu).

    Thanks,

    Rachel Gattermeyer
